carousel

carousel

I came across a small carnival at the mall Friday evening and couldn't resist this festive carousel. And I was able to keep the sketch a bit loose, which I like. I always seem to work it a bit too much, but I like the free-ness in this one.

It turned out great! Lots of detail, but not too tight! Lovely color and style!

I love everything carnival and you have captured this perfectly. I particularly love the shadow underneath. It has the carousel 'hovering' in just the right way. I think it is that hovering that is all important to the 'magic' of the carnival. It was quite a mystery when we were young, wasn't it.
