My life is about family and creativity. I love to do many different things and I change my focus often. But family and creativity are always part of each day in starrgirl's world.

the rocking chair
this evening's quick sketch is a bit of family history...
What a sweet story, Starr. I had a BIG mauve chair with flat arms that I stuffed myself and each of my children in to read stories to. It has the same fond memories for me, but alas, I had to throw it out finally a year or so ago. I should have gotten the wooden rocker I was thinking about when the first one was a baby!
OH MY!! Give me a cup of coffee, a snuggly afgan and let me lose myself in that chair!! GRANDGLORIOUS!!!! And I love your story too!! WONDERFUL, Starr!
Is it wonderful to look at an object and it brings out all those memories! I love your story! Thanks for the comment on my self portrait BTW - you understood exactly what I meant!
OMG, I am older than I ever thought I'd be!! I wasn't going to trust anyone over 30- remember those days??? - and here I am, decades past that!! Fortunately, life goes on and grows even more rich with time. Make the most of every day for each one is a gift no matter how you spend it.

What a beautiful old chair. The song brings back memories, too, it was one of my grandfather's favorites.
:-D I also love the song and sing it still! And your "quick sketches" never fail to blow me away!
