things from supper

Thanks to Laura of laurelines for today's inspiration. Her still lifes are always so vibrant that I was driven to my own fridge for a couple of tasty subjects. She also caused me to try out these Cretacolor pencils in the WC Moleskine. I'm still touching up with regular watercolor and a bit of colored pencil, but less each time.

Wow. I especially love the light on the cherries.

Hee hee, what fun! Looks like we even have similar dishes for cantaloupe-placing! I'm finding that the Caran d'Ache neocolor II crayons are giving me the effects I want with summer light and colors, but my big set of Cretacolors will always be a favorite!
The subtlety of coloration in the asparagus is wonderful!
